How To: Watch the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII Commercials Live Online

Watch the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII Commercials Live Online

It's almost here. Another year has come and gone, and it's time to watch the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers battle it out in New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII.

For the truly football-obsessed, this Sunday is a day almost as exciting as Christmas. Personally, I just use it as an excuse to cook food that's way less healthy than usual since I never quite became a football fan (sorry, Dad).

And then there are those who have absolutely zero interest in the game, but still insist on watching every year for one reason, and one reason only—the commercials. This is probably the only time anyone ever looks forward to advertisements, but since companies pay so much for the ad slots, they definitely go the extra mile to make sure they're worth watching.

If you're one of those people who couldn't care less about the big game, but still want to see the commercials, you're in luck. No longer do you have to suffer through a few hours of football just to see the ads—you can stream them all online! Here are a few ways to watch.

YouTube

Once again, YouTube will continue its AdBlitz contest, but this year they've partnered with Adweek to bring a more social aspect to it. Viewers can watch this year's ads on YouTube's AdBlitz Channel as soon as the air on TV, then head over to Adweek for the voting gallery.

Here are the other features they've added for this year:

  • Touchdown dance GIF generator: Create and share your own touchdown dance GIF.
  • Smack Talk: Log in to all your social media channels from the channel to share your team spirit with friends and see a real-time visualization of which team is winning the internet (if not the actual game).
  • Paper Football: Test your accuracy in an age old finger flick game.
  • Call the Coach: Get instant advertising advice from ad coach, DeStorm.
  • Fun Facts: Learn interesting facts about big game advertising, provided by Adweek.

Check out the blog entry for more details on this year's Ad Blitz, and, uh...here's an ad for it.

If you're already going to be live-streaming the game on the NFL's website, you can catch the commercials while you're there, too. There's a separate page just for the ads where you can watch them as they air, then rate them and see what other people are saying in the comments section.

Hulu

Hulu will also be streaming Super Bowl commercials as part of its AdZone. Viewers can comment, Tweet, and share the ads via social media, and vote for their favorites. Sad as it is, a lot of companies have put out "teasers" to their commercials (an ad for an ad? really?), which are already up on the site.

You can also see all the ads from previous Super Bowls, with a "best of" section for each year.

You can also find the commercials along with news and analysis on USA Today's AdMeter, Huffington Post, and SpotBowl.

Don't forget, the big game will be airing on Sunday, February 3rd at 3:30 p.m. PST (6:30 p.m. EST). You can catch it on CBS or live-stream it online, and be sure to let us know which ad is your favorite in the comments below!
